3 Hong Kong Brings BlackBerry® 8700g™ with New Service Package to Hong Kong
3 Hong Kong and Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) today jointly launched the latest BlackBerry® 8700g™ in Hong Kong.

To complement the launch of BlackBerry® 8700g™, 3 Hong Kong also introduces a new service package 'China Traveller Plan' along with an array of business-oriented applications, namely, '3Fax', '3Finance for BlackBerry' and 'True Tone Download for BlackBerry'. These new features will not only make BlackBerry handheld devices an indispensable business companion for professionals and business executives, but also further strengthen 3 BlackBerry service offerings in Hong Kong.

Amy Lung, Commercial Director, Consumer Market of 3 Hong Kong said, "3 Hong Kong is the first carrier to launch BlackBerry in Asia Pacific and also one of the very first carriers globally to launch Yahoo! Messenger service. The extension of our BlackBerry range of devices will further raise the productivity and communication capability of 3 Hong Kong mobile users."

3 BlackBerry service has been well received by frequent travellers and businessmen in mainland China. The newly launched 'China Traveller Plan' hence has a strong focus on providing good-value-for-money BlackBerry Internet Service for those customers. Bundling email and voice services, the new service package will allow customers to enjoy up to 30% savings on email roaming data expense in mainland China. Customers can fully enjoy the advanced email, messaging and voice features of the new BlackBerry 8700g™ in a more cost effective manner. Furthermore, upon subscription to the 'China Traveller Plan', customers can enjoy handset discount and three months of '3Fax' service free.

The BlackBerry 8700g™ from 3 Hong Kong will be available on 24 Feb 2006. Customer can purchase the new BlackBerry 8700g™ at HK$4,280 with the subscription of the 3 BlackBerry Internet Service (remark 1). The customer can enjoy a HK$300 handset discount for BlackBerry® 8700g™ if they subscribe to the 'China Traveller Plan' (remark 2) . The customer may also choose other BlackBerry devices for subscription to 'China Traveller Plan' and enjoy up to a maximum of HK$1,440 handset discount (remark 3).
