3 Hong Kong is the only local telecoms operator to retail the
Kelly Chen X iPANDAS charity set from Capdase

Charity set move designed to promote children’s education and welfare

Hong Kong, 5 August, 2015 - 3 Hong Kong, the mobile communications division of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited (HTHKH or the Group; stock code: 215), today launched the Kelly Chen X iPANDAS1 charity set – produced by Capdase – throughout 10 3Shops to draw attention to the importance of children’s education and welfare.

Handset accessory manufacturer Capdase has pledged to make a donation to the Kelly Chen Children Education Fund2 for each charity set sold by 3 Hong Kong.

HTHKH Chief Operating Officer Jennifer Tan said: “This move demonstrates how our ‘Making Better’ philosophy can be applied to helping the community, as well as improving aspects of our business, such as network quality, service diversity and customer support.”

She added: “We are delighted to become Hong Kong’s only telecoms operator to play a meaningful role in this campaign. We are launching the charity set to draw the public’s attention to the importance of children’s welfare and education.”

Charity set designed by Kelly Chen priced at $288
Designed by Cantopop and screen star Kelly Chen, the Kelly Chen X iPANDAS charity set from Capdase comprises a cuddly toy panda to symbolise a better childhood. Also included are a soft plastic phone case and leather pouch suitable for two of today’s most popular handset models. The classic Capdase frosted-yet-transparent plastic case is wear resistant, dustproof and scratchproof, thanks to adoption of imported environment-friendly TPU 80-85 soft-touch plastic.

Printed on the case are an iPANDAS logo plus dim sum characters “Shrimp Dumplings” and “Xiao Long Bao” as an affectionate representation of Kelly’s two children, who support this community-spirited cause. The charity set is now available at 10 designated 3Shops, priced at $288 (see table below for details).

A keen sense of corporate citizenship
HTHKH has been demonstrating a keen sense of corporate citizenship for decades by serving needy sections of the community via cash and in-kind donations, along with staff volunteering schemes. In fact, the Group celebrated its 30th anniversary last year by organising the Donation Matching Programme, by which employees joined forces with the Group to donate cash to eight charities.

In addition, the Group recently collaborated with the Senior Citizen Home Safety Association to equip elderly individuals living alone with safety phones, complete with tariff plans, in order for them to stay in touch with family and friends at all times.
