Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong and Vodafone
launch a strategic partnership in Hong Kong
as part of an agreement with the Conexus Mobile Alliance |

Hong Kong, 11 January 2012 – Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited (HTHKH, Stock Code: 215) today announced that its mobile arm, Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong (HTHK), has launched a strategic partnership with Vodafone in Hong Kong as part of a wider agreement with the Conexus Mobile Alliance.
HTHK is a member of the Conexus Mobile Alliance, which announced plans to enter into a strategic alliance with Vodafone in the Asia Pacific region in 2011. The announcement covered partnerships with other Alliance members such as FarEasTone (Taiwan), NTT DOCOMO (Japan), SMART (the Philippines), StarHub (Singapore) and TrueMove (Thailand) over time.
Under the Conexus Mobile Alliance agreement, HTHK will be able to sell to its multinational customers a range of managed communications services provided by Vodafone Global Enterprise, the business within Vodafone that manages the communications needs of multinational companies.
The move comes as multinational corporations (MNCs) show an increasing demand for sophisticated voice and data communications solutions, as well as advanced roaming services.
Amy Lung, HTHKH’s Chief Operating Officer (Mobile), said: “Our collaboration with Vodafone will provide us with a hefty boost in terms of broadening our customer base and growing our share of the corporate market, and will help further strengthen our leading position in the sector.”
Vodafone Global Enterprise has 140 customers headquartered in the Asia Pacific and another 435 operating across the region.
Enhanced roaming footprint and network coverage for flat-rate data roaming daily pass
Under the partnership, several new destinations have been added to HTHK’s flat-rate data roaming daily pass offer. HTHK now covers 52 destinations and 65 networks. This amounts to one of the most extensive roaming network coverage offered by any data roaming daily pass proposition in the Hong Kong market. Both individual and corporate customers will benefit from attractive data roaming offers, as well as a better roaming experience across more countries.
HTHK’s multinational customers will also gain greater flexibility through accessing Vodafone Global Enterprise’s managed communication services and solutions designed to place mobility at the core of enterprise communications as well as help businesses to work and budget more efficiently.
