Data Roaming Daily Pass service (“Daily Pass”) and the related charges (“Daily Charge”) are only available to 3HK 4G LTE / 3G postpaid customers who have subscribed data service, IDD & Roaming service (Not applicable to Home Direct roaming service) and Daily Pass and who uses data roaming service in the designated destinations and on the designated networks (the “Customers”). Standard data roaming charges will apply otherwise.
Different Daily Charge will apply depending on the type of the postpaid SIM card being used in the mobile device. If a Customer is using a SIM card for our mobile phone or tablet service plan, then the Daily Charge relating to handset and tablet will apply. If a Customer is using a SIM card for our EasyPlus / EasyGo / Monthly data plan, then the Daily Charge for USB Modem / Mobile Wi-Fi Router will apply.
3Roam WiFi is a WiFi roaming service. After successful subscription and using of Data Roaming Daily Pass, no extra charge will apply to using of 3Roam WiFi in same designated destination (where it is also within 3Roam WiFi coverage) and the designated WiFi networks on the same day. 3Roam WiFi is not applicable to Daily Charge for USB Modem / Mobile Wi-Fi Router.
A confirmation will be displayed when Daily Pass subscription is effective. Confirmations will be displayed by way of SMS, on 3Care of 3HK website and/or Planet 3, as the case maybe. Roaming charge (data or voice) may apply (on standard rates) if the Daily Pass subscription is taken place overseas.
Daily Charge only includes data transmission charges and does not include any other charges that might incur from using any other data service.
Daily Charge commences on the first data usage upon the successful subscription of Daily Pass. Daily Charge is levied on a daily basis. There is no pro-rata calculation of Daily Chargeeven if Daily Pass is effective and terminated within the same day. A day means from 00:00 to 23:59 (Hong Kong time) wherever a Customer is and the cut-off time is 23:59 (Hong Kong time) each night, wherever a Customer is. If data roaming usage extends beyond the daily cut-off time, another day of Daily Charge will apply.
If a Customer visits and uses Daily Pass in more than one designated destinations within the same day, separate Daily Charges relevant to the destinations will apply.
Once Daily Pass is effective, the Data Network Shield service will also be activated (unless it has been released manually) and data roaming service at Daily Pass designated destinations will only be available on the designated networks. All other roaming services (including voice calls, SMSs and video calls) will remain to be accessible on all available networks. The code for release of Data Network Shield via handset is [*107*888#].
Daily Pass can be terminated via the same channels for subscription. The code for termination via handset is [*107*2#]. All Daily Pass termination requests will have to be sent within a reasonable amount time before 23:59 Hong Kong time for the termination to be effective on the next day. Termination will be effective at 00:00 (Hong Kong time). If the termination is not successful, a message confirming the unsuccessful attempt will be displayed by way of SMS on 3Care of 3HK website and/or Planet 3 (as the case maybe). Once the termination is effective, at 00:00 Hong Kong time the next day, standard roaming charges will apply to data roaming usages.
Data Network Shield service will be released and 3Roam WiFi will be unavailable immediately upon the receipt of the Daily Pass termination request but the Daily Pass will only be terminated effective at 00:00 (Hong Kong time) on the next day. Once the Data Network Shield is terminated, data roaming will be available on non-designated networks and standard data roaming charges will apply to such data usage.
In most cases, if a Customer has subscribed to both Daily Pass and a service plan that includes data roaming usage, during the effective period of Daily Pass, the data roaming usage would be charged first to the Daily Charge then the applicable service plan. However, there are cases where that might not be the case. For the charging arrangement applicable to your case, please contact 3 Customer Services Hotline. All service plans are charged individually.
All usage is subject to the terms and service policy of designated networks (if applicable).
Daily Pass is not applicable to usage on Peer to Peer (“PTP”). If usage on applications such as (but are not limited to) BitTorrent, edonkey, flashget, foxy, ppstream, winmx is found, or if abusive or abnormal usage is found, 3HK reserves the right to forthwith terminate Daily Pass without prior notice. All commercial or illegal promotion activities via this service will be prohibited.
About using 3Roam WiFi
Access to 3Roam WiFi is done via a dedicated software application (“Connection Manager”) to connect
to the designated WiFi network. The Connection Manager can be a mobile App such
as iPhone App, Android App. Customer’s mobile device must equipped with WiFi feature in order to
use the service.
When Customer uses the Connection Manager for the first time, Customer is required to enter his/her 3 mobile number for verification in order to provide the WiFi service. If Customer needs to change to another 3 mobile number for 3Roam WiFi, he/she may do so in the Connection Manager > Settings > Change Mobile Number or re-install the Connection Manager, and then enter and verify the new mobile number once again. Otherwise, usage and charges will be counted towards the existing mobile number.
All service charges and details (including but not limited to designated destinations and designated network and their coverage) are subject to final decision of 3HK. 3HK reserves the right to change the service charges and details without prior notice.
